The Boy's football team won the Superbowl this past weekend!!
It went down to the wire, with The Boy's Team scoring the winning touchdown on a drive that began with just 1:07 left on the clock.
We thought we had lost.
We thought there was no chance.
A group of 40 six, seven, and eight-year-old boys showed us THEY knew better.
They drove the ball down the field in 3 plays, scored and WON.
It was as exciting, if not more so, than any professional Superbowl I've seen, and y'all know I love my football!
In his corner, The Boy had his sister and myself, as well as my sister and BIL ~who got a job, BTW! Those extra prayers from the blogosphere seemed to tip the scales! ~ and our cousin, his wife and children. Several friends came as well, because The Boy and his best friend play on the same team and we are close friends with his family.
I'm so pleased for him that this time, he and his teammates got rewarded for their hard work.
I didn't dwell on it, because he deserves his moment, but we did have a family friend on the losing team, so we did talk briefly about how those boys played hard and deserved a reward too, but not everyone can win, and this time, it was The Boy's team's turn.
What a moment.
What a day.
What a game.
What a memory!
