Friday Fragments: Blah! Break is Almost Over!

I wasn't planning on posting today, but the post I put up yesterday as part of Mama Kat's Writer's workshop, didn't garner much attention, so I thought I should get it replaced. I freely admit that I wasn't feeling it as I wrote it and I guess that came through...

I feel like I don't have much to Frag about, but I always say that and then end up with a big, long post.

*****

Why does break always seem to go by so fast???

It's FRIDAY... we go back on Tuesday...and I haven't gotten through half of what I wanted to get done.  Yesterday was year-end budget day...always fun... it's half done, but today I'm taking a break and planning for the next few weeks at school...I'll have to get back to budgeting this weekend or Monday... fun way to ring in the New Year.

Don't you wish you could be me?

*****

I think I'll put in the application for a Rich Husband.... any takers?

I miss be a Stay at Home Mom!

*****

My kids have enjoyed being home too... we went ice skating on Monday and to the movies on Tuesday and they haven't really wanted to leave the house since... they are content to stay home and play with their new toys... this is good!

*****

Speaking of toys... Bey Blades??? I'd seen them in school last year and The Boy asked for some for Christmas... they seem like such useless toys but my kids will play with them for HOURS.  Then they pull up the cartoon series on Netflix and reenact the battles while watching the show... I don't get it... but it keeps them happy while Mamma does things like the budget and plan, so I'm grateful!

*****

My single girlfriend and her sister came over last night for movie night.  We watched Bridesmaids while the kids played upstairs.  It was funny, but a little more bittersweet than I expected... the other girls agreed.  I think I may have been expecting something more along the lines of Hangover...

Did you see it? What did you think?

We don't have bey blades in our house yet since my son is too young and my daughter associates them with icky boys. I haven't seen Bridesmaids yet, but it's on my to do list because of all the good reviews I keep seeing on it. Good luck with budgeting, I know that is no fun.

I have not even heard of Bey Blades but my boys are kinda weird about toys. They've never been into them all that much. They want grown up stuff!

I thought Bridesmaids was funny but not one that I'm going to want to see over and over.

Hope you have a Happy New Year!

Ugh...budgets, I need to do that too. Not looking forward to it.

I liked Bridesmaid - it did make me cry. But I cry in almost everything. I'd watch it again if it came on TV but I'm not running out to buy it.

One of the dance moms at Miss K's dance studio mentioned that her son was into Bey Blades. I checked them out at Christmas time, but I think that Little E is still too little for them.
He has those vibrating bugs, the ones that I cannot remember the name of right now.
And I did not completely watch all of Bridesmaids, so I have no idea what you are talking about. ha!

Visiting from Friday Fragments. I agree any break from work goes by much too fast! Wishing you and your family the happiest of New Years.

I've got to get my fragment post up...

I go back on Tuesday too. Spent yesterday in morning surgery and the day recovering. Today I'm still working to feel motivated, but I'm doing well.

Tomorrow, school.

Weekend Christmas down or a one day road trip to take B to Indy.

That's a good or bad thing depending on how I look at it...

I loved it but I was hoping for a better ending!

I kinda sorta loved Bridesmaids. I've watched it twice.

After watching the beginning of Bridesmaids I walked away from it. Couldn't handle how horrible that beginning was.

My kids already go back on Tuesday, too.

My boys asked for Bey Blades, too. Still considering whether or not to get them. I hate "fad" toys, but they played with them for a long time at their nephew's house.

I liked Bridesmaids but would have liked to see more of the cop guy. He was so cute and sweet.

I hope the rest of your break goes into slow motion then.

Happy New Year to you and the kids.

Loved Bridesmaids. Saw it twice and peed each time. ;)

Sorry break is flying by. I am sure it always seems too quick.

Happy new year, dear friend. I hope that you have a great segue way into 2012 and you get all you wish for in the new year!

love love loved Bridesmaids, but i love rude comedy and potty humor. i agree it was not as good as the Hangover, but really can that movie be topped?

Bey Blades were at the top of my nephew's lists this year too. i don't get it, weird toy, hours of entertainment!

Happy New Year...not sure how i got here..out for a blog jog..but your place is darling!!

Oh I agree about the movie. I think the Bridesmaids movie suffered from the super hype, I too expected something more akin to Hangover:)
Wishing you a Happy New Year. Cheers!

Bridesmaids was definitely funny and had Hangover-type bits, but yeah, it wasn't the same. At all. I was happy to see a full female cast, and wasn't it written by a woman? I'm not being female-centric, but sometimes when men write female pieces they miss the mark.

I haven't heard of bey blades... I feel so out of the loop! Am going to be a bridesmaid in a wedding over the summer and got that movie to watch with the bride and a few other girls in the bridal party. Will let you know what I think!
