Friday Fragments: Going for Truly Random Again

Did captchas get revamped?

I was tooling around last week, return visiting everyone and I felt like I got hit with an abnormal amount of captchas. Not only that, but I couldn't read them and there were two words and commas and I thought,

"What is this???"

I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that it was 5 am and I was up after having a little blonde girl in my bed trying to run a marathon up my back all night.

We lost a sports icon last week.

In  a locker room, Gary Carter  was a moral compass who had a true love of and enthusiasm for the game. We need more role models like him.

I am not a baseball fan. I was, however, at 10 years of age, a 1986 Met Fan.

In fact, I couldn't figure out why all these people were such big fans of that team called the Yankees.  They stunk in the 70's and 80's.  It wasn't until they started winning again in the 90's that I realized they were a historically great team.

Who knew?  Not me apparently. Did I mention I'm not a baseball fan?

I was a little late with Christmas Gifts for my children's teachers this year.  This is a little embarrassing, considering I work with them.  I DID get them baked goodies, but the actual gifts went from being Christmas to New Years, to Martin Luther King Jr, to FINALLY being given on Valentine's Day.

This was included in the Goody Bag:

Paper Voodoo Pad by Knock Knock
A gift truly appreciated when given to a teacher from another teacher!

Everybody's been talking about those captchas this week. So much so that I went to make sure mine hadn't somehow been turned on. But they were still off. Whew! I hate those things too and don't really understand why you need them. I don't know about the other sites but blogger puts anything suspicious in spam anyway.

Have a great weekend! :)

Paper voodoo! I love it! For Christmas I gave my husband a gag gift notepad that says hey a$$hole and you mark the workers offense and how you'd like them to improve in the future. Seeing as he works in HR, I simply couldn't resist. I also got him a DUH sticky note pad. he did take that one to work!

I love baseball, though it's a recent thing of the last few years. But I like the Phillies and the Reds!

Happy Friday!

My mom and I were broken-hearted over losing Gary. It's so sad. I loved him. She loved him even more. :( Thanks for sharing a smile about him and your young baseball memories.

The paper voodoo cracked me up!!

My little guys does the running in bed too!!! Why do they insist on sleeping with us and then beating us all night??? I don't get it. I started putting him in the older kids beds now. I think we should all share the pain ;-)

I decent moral icon would be nice in any sport arena, pun intended ;-)

Yep - all the word veri thingies are now two words and people/proof (well, nearly.) I've stopped even TRYING to comment on blogs that use them.

I'm BEGGING folks to turn on comment moderation and turn those monstrous captchas off.

The double word captchas are really trying my patience. I have poor eyesight, and one phrase was bad enough. Now two! Mama mia!

I'm sure the teachers will appreciate the gifts even more now that they are not swamped with gifts.
