An Important Schedule

Y'all, I like having a schedule and a plan.  There was a time in my life when if it didn't get written in my Daily Planner, it just didn't happen.

I'm not quite that rigid anymore.  Have you heard of motherhood?

Anywho, I've had a dilemma of late...over my morning coffee.

Keurig Mini Plus
I have one of these....

....and I love it.  I love making a quick, cup of coffee and not having to brew the whole pot, but it's expensive to keep myself in K-Cups... usually... until one day a few weeks ago when I walked into one of my local housewares stores and they had Winter and Fall assortments on sale for $19.99 a box... with 48 in a box and I had coupons!  My word! I now have no less than 100 K-cups in my house.

But I also have this:
I have a friend who is a micro-roaster and keeps me in coffee beans... for FREE! We don't live very close to each other, so when we do see each other I stock up.  This is good coffee my friends... really good coffee! ~Darn the anonymous thing or I'd give you a link~ I have a stand alone grinder and the insert to make your own for the Keurig, but try as I might I CANNOT get the ''right" brew, so I'm forced to drag out my Grind and Brew.
All this "which one should I use?" was making me a little nuts.

I'm happy to say that I have worked out a schedule.  The Grind and Brew has a timer, so on weekdays when I get up at the same time everyday, I pre-set it the night before.  It's loud, too, so it works like a nice little alarm clock and then I walk into the kitchen to a nice, hot pot of really good coffee which I can sip while I blog.

On the weekends, when I'm not sure what time I'll stumble out and don't particularly WANT an alarm clock, I use the Keurig on a cup-by-cup basis.

It works for me and I'm anal enough that I like scrubbing clean the coffee makers and rotating them on the counter top each week!

I'm happy! I have a schedule and coffee. Life is good!

***I'm pretty sure neither Keurig, nor Cuisinart have any idea who I am. They certainly didn't ask for my opinion, and this post is more about the coffee than the actual brewing products. I was not compensated in any way for this post!***

That's what scares me about motherhood. I LOVE a routine.

I do not drink coffee, but most mornings I am a creature of a routine of some sort.

Tell me, do you recycle your little emptied K cups?

they have these little k=cups filter things at walmart and you can put ground coffee in them and have your own blend. they're ever reusable.
we've thought about getting one. BUT we got a keurig for christmas and have yet to make a dent in our 200 k cups.

here is one.

I love my Keurig! My mom got me a huge box of 80 k-cups for Christmas!! I was in heaven!! I only have one a day, so it gets me through. =)

When my FIL gave us our Keurig 2 Christmases ago my first thought was " why do I need another coffee maker?!" I eat my words now, or drink them. haha.
He also gave us over 100 K-cups but they didn't last very long. Buying them is SO expensive and they don't last long, so we brew our own now. I love those bullets. :)
