A Walking...Make That Driving...Advertisement

Family Window Decals...Do you have them?

When we were at Disney World a few years ago and I saw the little mouse-ear families on the back of all the cars, I thought I might get some...until I realized that as a single mom, having such decals on the back of my car would be a walking ~or should I say "driving"~ advertisement, so I refrained.

Then my birthday came around and my former step-mother-in-law of all people sent me a family of decals as a gift.  The children saw them and got very excited and so I became a driving advertisement.

It didn't help the dating situation. I still didn't meet any men.  On the plus side, no one followed me home and attempted to break into my man-less home either, so there is that.

You may remember that I got a new car this fall.  When I happily ~okay gleefully~ waved goodbye to my old car, the decals went with it!

I was free.

I should have known better.

Y'all, guess what I got for Christmas from my children?

Window decals!

My sister took them shopping and the children each picked some out... 1 for them and 1 for me... yes, they each picked 1 for me, so now I had 2 mom decals...I wasn't sure how I was going to choose one over the other.

My own mother, I'm sure it will come as no surprise, suggested I just use both... but that would be FALSE advertising. If I was looking to date men, I probably shouldn't be driving around with two women on the back of my car, right?

Instead we laid them out on the table, looking at the "mom" decals and decided on the one that most looked like me.

Here I am... advertising my singleness again.

I still haven't met any men because of my car... but none have followed me home because of it either. ~Like I said, there is that!

I suppose it could be worse.  I could be this lady!
No offense to the cat lovers of the world. I'm one myself, afterall!

I think I'm one of the few moms in this town who does not have those on my car. The cat lady one is hilarious!

The only sticker on my car is a vinyl cling that says, "Bring your own bag."

How boring am I?

I love that you wrote a post about this because it's an ongoing joke with my brother & I. I refuse to have them on my car- He's single, no kids and makes me laugh describing his lone man on the back of his window!
The cat one is hysterical!!

LOL @ the cat lady one.

Those decals make me nervous. Even though I drive a minivan so it's pretty obvious I have kids, I don't like making it so clear. I'm paranoid.

Hahahaha! I love it.

Yesterday we saw them on someone's car. It was woman, man and one dog and five cats. I think.

Imagine if I had them? Bwahaha! Hilarious. :>

I always heard that those aren't safe, but I don't get why they aren't safe. I mean, people can SEE who is in the car--it's not a secret! ha Stopped by from SITS today. Enjoy your day!

Literally LOL! I hate those stickers, but if my kids got them for me I'd definitely grit my teeth and slap them on.
Maybe you should get a decal with big boobies next time....haha! :P

Yes, two ladies definitely could have stunted your dating life. Too funny. You almost broke free from the stickers :)

Love this post! I am a single mom, and I get seriously depressed when I see those little stick figures on cars. Makes me think the family must be smiling and wearing their little mouse ears all day long. I feel like if I put a figure of my two kids and me, it just advertises half a family. I wonder if married moms ever give so much thought to stick figures!

That is hilarious! I love the dilemma of having TWO moms on the back of your car window!

Honestly, I guess they are annoying, but I am still considering getting some. My friend has some from the beach that are flip flops instead of people. They are cute. I just haven't found the right ones yet.
