PYHO: Ordinary

Lawn Boy came over this weekend and literally took care of the lawn.  My children had an activity that had them both out of the house for a few hours, so he came over and mowed. Originally, I was going to send him on his way before I got the children... I'm still super cautious ~okay paranoid~ about my children being around him too much...getting attached...but we were having a nice time and the list of things we'd hoped to get done was long and we'd barely put a dent in it, so I asked him to stay.

When I got back with the children, they immediately ran to the neighbor's and I went around to the backyard to plant the rest of my vegetables while he edged my front planting bed to prep for laying new mulch.

It was so very... ORDINARY...

And I realized how long it had been since I had help like this ~That didn't come from Daddy.

How nice it is.

Just having someone to share in the mundane tasks of your day.

Okay, it totally helped that he is in really good shape and kept picking up his shirt to wipe his forehead *blushing*

Who needs flowers and romance and  dinners out???

I just need help with my lawn. *grins*

When I was dating Brad, my vacuum broke. He tried to help me fix it over the phone, and it did work from time to time.

That Christmas, we said no gifts, but he bought me a vacuum. I was delighted. It's the every day make life things easier stuff that counts most to me.

:)

That is awesome! Totally got a good laugh, and couldn't help but imagine the whole wiping of the brow with his shirt thing:)

I often tell my boyfriend he's the most sexy when he's helping me clean! I think a man doing chores really is kind of like porn for women ;-)

Oh, the visuals you sent me in my head ;)

Glad you got to share the mundane tasks with someone else in your way =)

Coming from someone who whines every time the grass needs to be cut, I think lawn skills are an important thing to check out in any relationship. And I'd rather have someone GROW me a flower than buy one. It's cheaper that way. (Can you tell who does the finances in my house? lol)

I've always said the sexiest thing is coming home to a clean house and empty dishwasher with laundry done--that I didn't do.

What a fun read. Come to think of it, I could use some help around the yard too!

Love that your are so "enjoying" your lawn boy!

But hmmm your imagery. You wouldn't by any chance be reading 50 Shades of Gray?

I can relate TOTALLY. Our tree guy comes twice a year to clean out the gutters. HE shows up shirtless with his deep tan and good bod.

I love doing the boring mundane things with Chris, makes them less boring and they go faster.

Lol the opening of this post has me in stitches :) get it, girl. You deserve a nice man to trim the hedges or whatever you call it these days.

This comment is making me blush uncontrollably, ha!

I understand what you mean re: exposure to your kiddies but i want you to be happy, too. Do what makes you happy and i believe it'll all fall into place.
