Friday Fragments: Get Over Yourself!

Wednesday's post was my 500th... 500 POSTS!!!! I did not imagine when I jumped on the blogging bandwagon three ~or maybe 4... CRIKEY, I can't remember!~ years ago that I'd still be at it after all this time!

And this week, I can't find it...or them, I should say.

...My Costa Del Mar Vela sunglasses that I received as a birthday gift last year, because I'd never spend that much on my own glasses.

I'm so upset!  I've looked everywhere I can think, retraced my steps, called the last store I visited, and still can't find them.

I guess that means they are really lost...or not, because I haven't asked MY mom to look for them!

I've been teaching Vacation Bible School all week. Yesterday, a child in my class had a nose bleed and I had my first exposure to a nose clot.  I have a pretty strong stomach, but HOLY COW! I kept calm, but inside I about died!  It was hours before I could eat again!

This is why I am a teacher and not a nurse.

Thanks goodness my children aren't prone to nosebleeds!

I went to the doctor this week for my annual checkup. I have gained back some of the weight I lost this fall...all of it, I thought and was complaining to my doctor about it.  She flipped back to my visit last year and basically told me to get over myself.  According to her chart, I'm 8 pounds down from where I was last spring, my BMI is well within normal range as is my weight and my blood work puts me squarely in the "picture of good health" category.  Apparently my cholesterol numbers are pretty spectacular, not that I remember them!

So if the doctor tells you to get over yourself, you probably should right?

I'll get right on that.

I've lived with this particular opinion of myself for 15+ years, I'm sure 30 minutes with my doctor will fix it! *winks*

Made this for dinner the other night with Tarragon and Parsley.  YUM...even the kids ate it. Omitted the artichokes, mostly because I didn't have any and served it with sweet potato fries instead of mashed potatoes

I clicked on the sunglasses link. Nice gift! I've never owned nor worn expensive sunglasses because I either scratch them, break them, or lose them!

I second your doctor's opinion! (Don't they always say to get a second opinion?) I'm guessing you're way too hard on yourself. Wait, I'm not guessing, I know it!

I'm totally with you on the blood . . . I always tell my kids at school that I don't do blood and guts so they need to be careful!

congrats on 500 posts - I have no idea of typical numbers before bloggers just quit but I know too many bloggers I've followed just stop. I'm lucky (??) that blood doesn't bother me much but I hate to see anyone in pain.

Congrats on your 500th post!

Don't give up - maybe they'll turn. I thought I lost my wedding for months. And I found it.

Yeah, my doctor thinks I should get over myself too. What's up with that?

Congrats on the nod of approval from your doctor. I don't like blood. I prefer to teach, too. Since I share a campus with a clinic, I get plenty of kids and moms who want me to see something, as they suspect I am a medical person. Yech. Take your blood, throw up, cough, and fever to the other building that's a clinic please! Bring me your homework or math problems!

LOVE the "notihing is really lost until your mom can't find it." So true!! Around our house my husband and sons are always losing things and enlisting me to help find them. They call me the "finder". Hope you find your glasses!

Who know there was so much blood in a nose, where does it come from?

Get over yourself! ;]

I would have thrown up, I'm queasy these days and blood is gross on it's own!

Wow 500 posts! That's awesome! And I happen to agree with your doctor... I'm sure you look beautiful, momma :)

OH lord... I'm not sure I have the stomach for that either.

I don't even know how many shades I have lost over the years... that's why I always get the cheapie ones.
