Friday Fragments: My Own Worst Enemy

Yesterday I was feeling like a slug because I got nothing done all day.

Today I realize I am my own worst enemy.
  • I left the house at 8:15 am.
  • I picked up both kids from a sleepover.
  • I dropped one off at a playdate.
  • I picked up a friend for the other.
130 miles and almost 3 hours later, I walked back in the door.

I wonder why my mind is fragmented?

And I never get anything done.

I am my own worst enemy, because I still need to
  • Exercise.
  • Make call the refi guy for my mortgage.
  • See if the medical records have shone up at the new pediatrician's office yet.
  • Make dip for music at the pool tonight.
  • Buy a birthday gift for the neighbor's birthday party this evening.
  • Think about dinner.
  • And lunch...it is almost lunch time

Did I mention I haven't gotten anything done yet?

I am my own worst enemy!

Welcome summer! It's a good thing you are so relaxing! *grins*

Hey..don't be so hard on yourself! I was thinking the same thing yesterday because I took the week off. I haven't done HALF the stuff on my list but at least I'm relaxing and enjoying some time with my son. At least you have the entire summer off....lucky you!

I am the same...

My husband wants me to go on a call with him, so though I did accomplish some small tasks this morning, I have been hesitant to start anything else while I wait for him to tie up loose ends here.

Lots of puttering, nothing major DONE.

Ah, but it's summer...

After 130 miles and 3 hours you deserve a tip. I wish I had a tip to offer you. Was the pool party relaxing? You probably need a dip in the pool. How about a dip for a tip?

Well, it is summer. An unproductive summer day is better than an unproductive school day, right? :)

Hope you had fun tonight! Thanks for linking up.

Reading this makes me feel so much better. I have been the same way this summer. Thank you so much for sharing!

Oh and by the way you're not alone. I have been the same way!

Ohh you are such a great mom with all of that driving around! My little ones are still too little for that, but I know I have that to look forward to in the next few years... :)

You are in good company with feeling scattered! Hope the weekend is more relaxing for you! :)

Stopping by from SITS. :)

You are not alone in your time management struggles! Scott came home from work yesterday and reminded me of how truly little I did (or didn't do as the case may be). "Did you call the babysitter?" Uh nope. "Did you schedule the car for service?" Not yet. "Did you fold the towels and sheets upstairs?" Was I supposed to do that? Just another productive day in my world.

What an awesome examination of how the lack of structure in the summer can suck all the relax out of it. Thanks for sharing.

First of all, it sounds like you got a lot done...quite frankly, well before I had even finished having coffee! ;) Secondly, give yourself a break, your job as mom is HARD WORK! And yes, those people who say summer is relaxing are liars! ;)

Wow, this has become indicative of my days off. Got a stink load of stuff to do and none of it gets done. I'm in the same boat as Julie above, except I'm the one asking myself those questions at the end of the day! Sigh...

I think you got a lot done and your kids probably had a wonderful morning.

I am so bad that way too. I just flit from this to that and before I know it, I've spent 3/4 of the day with nothing really to show for it!
