I rocked my bikini last week at Disney. Well, perhaps rocked is a strong word, but I wore it, in public...in a place where no one would ever see me again! *grins*

Earlier this week I spent the day at the beach with a friend I have known since Kindergarten. On the way there, I caught up via phone with my best friend up north, also someone I met in Kindergarten. I value all of my friends, but there is just something about those special few that I have known almost my entire life and with whom I have been through pretty much everything.

My friend at the beach is a fitness instructor and just got herself a fantastic pair of fake boobs. I did not wear my bikini to the beach! *eye roll*

It's been hot enough to fry an egg on pavement Below the Mason Dixon Line this week, so we also hit the pool. I have the lamest pool on the planet. There is hardly ever anyone else there, so it gets a little boring for me because I don't stay in the water as long as my children do and when I get out there is no one with whom to talk. I was thrilled when another mom showed up with two kids, as she seemed very friendly. Then she whipped out the Takis (hot fry chips that are all the rage among the 10-year-old set down here) and Mt Dew. She offered to share and I was in my head thinking, "Don't judge! Don't judge" and then she turns to the lifeguard and bellows, "Lifeguard! You are on duty. I'm going to smoke!" and I couldn't hold back the demons anymore...I'm sure she's very nice, but my mom radar alarms were going off full blast! ~Also not wearing the bikini...she might see me again and judge me for my bathing suit choices! *giggles*

I tried my darndest to cut off my finger while slicing carrots on my mandolin this week. Instead I settled for slicing my finger nail away from my nail bed... a 1/2inch long slit just left of center on my thumb. Holy Mary Mother of...did that hurt!!!! It's finally "dead" enough that I was able to cut the sliced part down so it stopped catching things. ~ Not, however, while wearing a bathing suit... I'm not my mother, afterall!
On that note... Have a great weekend!

The time at the pool with the mom who makes different choices than you? Priceless info. gathering time. File it away in a safe place!
*High five* for wearing your bikini! You are so right about lifelong friends - nothing compares to them. Hope your finger is feeling better (owie!) and that you have a great weekend.
Above the M-D it's been pretty hot too. For the past week or so, we've been HOTTER than my sis down in southwest FL!
BRAVO! You wore a bikini...you are my hero! :)
I love my one piece. I'd have to lose a lot of weight to go to two pieces. Good for you!
Good for you for rocking your bikini! Own it, girl. You DID ROCK IT!
Omg, your nail story... it sounds so incredibly painful! Sorry, momma. Hope that heals soon.
And I think it's super sweet you played video games with The Boy. Sounds like a lot of fun :)
Good for you for rocking your bikini!
It's so nice to have girl time. There is just something so therapeutic about it. Yay for you and your friends :)
That totally stinks about the pool momma. It is so difficult to find people who have similar family values as you when out in public.
The mom at the pool reminded me of a woman we saw when we drove by the Chuck E. Cheese's going to TJMaxx yesterday. She was underneath a tree at the road smoking a cigarette and drinking a cup of draft beer. All kinds of classy!
That is awesome that you wore your bikini. I am so not in shape for that yet. Or maybe ever.
Have a great weekend!
Sounds like you had a full week. Way to go rockin' the bikini!
And don't worry, we're all judging that mom right along with you.
Thanks for sharing. Stopping by from SITS. Have a great weekend.
Sounds like you had a very interesting week! Your post made me smile! I agree that we are all judging that mom! Stopping by from SITS!
Loved all your bathing suit stories. The mom at the pool was a hoot. I have no idea what "hot fries" are, but from what you described I did not get a good impression at the mom at the pool so feel free to rock your biknini. :)
Where did you all stay at Disney? m
Love this. Good for you for wearing your bikini. For me, it totally depends on the situation and yes, if I will ever see the people again :-)
