Friday Fragments: The Complaining One

This time last year I was blogging about football and my ex.

*****

I'm still struggling to get into the swing of things over here.  This week, I've been "required" to stay no less 8 hours beyond my contractual work day, not including the actual time I spend working at home and staying before and after anyway.  Makes it tough to get stuff done!

*****

We are all feeling the pressure of switching to Common Core and having new leadership in our school. That said, one of my coworkers told me the move down was agreeing with me because I was the only one consistently smiling and seemed much more 'in my grove' this year.  Guess I put on a good show! *winks*

*****

Add the garage door opener to the list of broken "appliances/electronics" around here.  Luckily, the door still opens and closes, but I have to get out and do it old-school style!

*****

Last night I was lamenting about not having chocolate in the house and lo and behold, someone showed up at my door with chocolate ice cream...and flowers. I got flowers too!  Someone who had no clue I was complaining. Made my night! *grins*

*****

Because I need a little pick me up before I go drag my exhausted children out of bed 30 minutes earlier than normal so I can be at work for another meeting and this song always makes me smile....

A surprise showing up at the door just in the nick of time is always a double blessing if it involves chocolate!

Keep smiling! :) Don't you hate having to get out of the car to open the garage door??? I have trouble with mine sometimes and it opens or closes part way!

Chocolate and flowers! Can't ask for more than that!!

So happy you got exactly what you needed when you were needing it! What a wonderful thing! Chocolate ice cream and flowers! :) That's awesome!

I misread your opening line. I read that you had been writing last year about football and sex. That sounded interesting! Sadly, it was about your ex. Glad you got chocolate.

A man that brings chocolate ice cream is a keeper FOR SURE. (I'm just ASSUMING it was a man of course. heh)
My daughters 6th grade band teacher unexpectedly quit (?) this week. Rumor has it he cursed out a student and quit before they could fire him! I am dying to know the whole/real story!

Hope you are having a great relaxing Saturday. That comment about your garage door made me smile. I forgot that our house in Atlanta was the same way. And that door was HEAVY.

I also enjoy the Chicken Fried song. What can I say we are a whole lotta country here.

Love that song!

And dang! Forgot to get chocolate when I was shopping today. I did get chocolate chips, tho, which is bad because I bake with some and then want to eat the whole dang thing. Oops.

Also? I got ice cream. For myself. You got flowers! And chocolate. From someone else. YAY!
