Friday Fragments: That's My Boy and Other Important Thoughts

Proud Mamma Moment:  It took The Boy FOREVER to come out from basketball practice this week. All of the other boys had come out and he was nowhere to be found. Turns out the coach had kept him and one other boy back to explain that there are some boys on the team that need more help during the game than she can give from the sidelines and The Boy along with this other boy are the ones she is counting on for help.

That's My Boy!

It was raining as we drove home from said practice. I was reminding the kids that it was shower night.  The Girl wanted to know why they couldn't just stand outside and shower in the rain.  Well, Baby Girl, it's 45 degrees out...it'll be a little cold! *SMH*

It always gets my goat when I see customers being rude in the store. It happened this week when I overheard a man being...belligerent... in the grocery store. He was in the "Self-Check Out" aisle and was still scanning, all the while asking loudly to speak to a manager. He was by no means yelling, but was speaking loud enough and in such a tone, that I turned to see who on earth was speaking that way. You may be right, but that's no cause to be rude to some teenage kid...even if he was rude to you first ~and I don't know that he was~ you are the one making the scene and IMO, that makes you WRONG!

I lost a "like" on facebook this week.  I noticed because I only had 70 to begin with, so if you haven't "liked" me yet, head on over to my facebook page and do so. I figure if I have more "likes" I won't notice when one person doesn't anymore. Pretty please! *grins*

We played a rousing game of flag football before the Superbowl last weekend.  The Boy was one of the team captains. He did not pick his Mamma to be on his team!  I showed him though...Mamma score a touchdown!

You would know this if you "liked" me on facebook... or read my last post! *winks*

Just another reason why I love my job.  I about died laughing when I saw this!

That's awesome-sauce.

You know I *like* you already. And looks like you're back at 70.

:)

I love that your boy is so sweet. Seriously. Love.

That drawing is too funny and so reminds me of something Dracen would draw. You may remember me blogging last year (3rd grade) about him answering a question on a paper in which he referred to the policeman as "the po po" and the teacher had to write that it was inappropriate. Surely she got a good laugh over it though!

Rude people make me crazy. I cringe when I witness something like that.

My son's paper says that when he is 100 years old he will be a race car driver! Good luck with that, son!

Sleep sounds wonderful!! That picture is very cute.

Way to go mama for scoring the TD!!!!

If I was on FB I would like you. I lost a subscriber to my blog this week. Kind of a bummer when there aren't very many, right? I totally get that.

I don't remember if I've already liked your page, but I'll go right over to check!

So great that the coach recognized that your boy is someone who can help others! I'd be super proud too.

Love that picture. It's true, my mama sleeps! :(

I have the BIGGEST pet peeve with people who will talk just loud enough so that whoever they are irritated by hears it but not loud enough for someone to be forced to ask what's wrong. It used to happen when Chris managed a restaurant all the time, I'd be visiting him at work when Nate was first born and people would be muttering under the breath and it still drives me nuts when I see it happen out in public!

I spent 7 weeks in Africa long ago and we DID shower out in the rain - - - of course we wore bathing suite to do it - - - but still, we showered out there and it was GREAT.
