Friday Fragments: Weather and Hair

We had a faulty fire alarm this week and it had us all outside in the rain.  My students were most taken aback by my hair, "Ms. Thomas!  Your hair is all brown!!!" *grins*

*****

The one good thing was the view of a certain strapping young fireman. Totally worth getting a little wet in the rain! *winks*

Wednesday's post was the 600th published here at Single Mom in the South. One thing's for sure, I certainly didn't go frivolous for the occasion! I never would have thought I'd still be at it when I decided to test the waters over three years ago!  Heck, I remember when 100 posts was a big deal!

*****

I forgot to thank everyone that went over and "liked" me on facebook when I was whining the other week.  I truly appreciated all the "love!"

*****

I made roasted chicken and sweet potatoes from The Gracious Pantry this week.  The rosemary in both complimented each other nicely. I oven roasted the potatoes instead of grilling them. YUMMY!  I'm slowly trying to transition to eating clean, although I have not yet found a way to incorporate organic meats into my budget.

Have you seen this?  It's horrifically hysterical!

I love that she thinks to tell and show the camera what happened just before she turns it off.  That must have been some curling iron!

Delayed opening in The South today due to overnight rain and freezing temps.  No complaints from me! Not a bad way to start a Friday!

I saw that video yesterday and couldn't help but laugh and feel sorry for her at the same time. We got freezing rain here but now it is clearing out. I am over 1000 posts lol. I would have never thought about that years ago when I started either..

That video is hilarious! I had not seen it yet. WTH? What's so funny is that she was doing a tutorial on using a product she obviously had no idea how to use. Bless her heart. :D

And you got me curious about how many posts I've written so I had to check. 522. You're a little ways ahead of me. ;)

I had not seen that video. OMG! I have to say, she responded better than I would have. I came of age in the 80s and let's just say curling irons and I spent a large amount of time together each day. BUT...I never burned my hair off in all that time!! I guess the inferior clampy kind of curling iron has its benefits! POOR GIRL!

Thumbs up for the fireman;)
That video is crazy, just crazy.
I've been trying to think of ways to interact more on my book's facebook page. Hopefully I come up with something good for the new book when it comes out this year.
We have a bit of icy rain today. Glad I didn't have to get any where this morning.
Wow congratulations on your posts, that is quite an accomplishment. I am getting close to 300 and I thought I was all that..lol!!
Have a very blessed weekend.

I've never quite understood the fireman thing - you can't see much through the bulky fireproof suits! :)

Oh man, if that girl burned herself, I can't watch it! I have done that way too much to myself.

Hahaha, firemen eh? I like me a man in uniform too ;-)

Woohoo for 600 posts!! And I totally remember the post for 100, it was a huge thing for me!!

Organic meat is crazy expensive :-( We can't budget that in ourselves.

What the heck is it about a fireman that makes a perfectly happy married woman smile? Maybe because they are the nicest hunks around. I'll have to get over to FB and like you.

When I was still teaching I LIVED for 2 hour delays - - - they didn't have to be made up, I could sleep in a bit, AND the whole day was short.

win win win

I found out this week that we may not have to make up our 3rd snow day. However, this weekend, our girls and boys basketball teams earned trips to State--I wonder if they'll let us off school on Friday to go, and I suspect that could tip the scale. Also, I suspect there is plenty of potential-snow-day weather ahead.

I've been freaking out inside a little, lately, realizing that grilling as often as we do isn't really good. I will check those recipes out!

The curling iron fiasco was hilarious!!!
