Focusing on the Joys

Because I didn't get to my usual frags on Friday and because I was feeling at a loss for a coherent post and feeling frustrated when my search for inspiration was proving futile, I remembered my vow earlier in the week.

Diane over at Be Still a Minute, pinned this last week and I commented that I wanted to be that girl... the one who focuses on her joys instead of her sorrows.

Mischief and mayhem ensued sometime in the night Sunday... well actually, it occurred at approximately 7:18 when someone realized she forgot and sent Lawn Boy upstairs to distract the children while she got crafty. Thank goodness the green paint from last year was still under the bed where I left it last year!

I've been doing a fairly good job with cooking healthy.  Here is a healthier version of "macaroni" and cheese I made this week. I went one step further, steaming a half a head of cauliflower then mashing it and stirring it in before baking. YUM!

We went to a local parade this weekend.  While there people watching, Lawn Boy pointed out a woman who was wearing inappropriately tight clothes and I said, "Well, gosh, she's the same size as me!" and he said, "Um, no Leigh, she's not. You are much smaller than that."  It frustrates me that I don't see what everyone else sees when I look in the mirror....

This cracked me up!

And finally, I stumbled across this one this week.

I have, oh how I have! *big, dorky smile*

I totally understand the self comparison with others. I do it all the time. I am a larger woman, and I know I need to lose weight. My husband gets very upset when I point to a woman and say I am as big as her, at least that is how I feel I am..

I think all of us, especially women, need to start accepting our awesomeness, right?

Maybe it is a good time for ALL of us to accept ourselves just the way we are. SO fantastic and so true. (and you are already completely awesome!!) --Lisa

Love the idea of talking more about joys than problems. Great advice! And the Wonder Woman card must us laugh out loud! :)-The Dose Girls

Aha! The green is too funny. I think my kiddo would have been cracking up at that, so I'm sure yours enjoyed. :>
