Friday Fragments: Food, Fesitivities and Family

My children and I went to dinner with Lawn Boy, his children, his ex wife, and her sister and sister's family this week. I am trying to decide if a blog post would be funny or make me sound more like the insecure new girlfriend.  My Word, there were some...interesting... moments.

I made this for dinner one night this week.  It was OFF.THE.CHAIN. I even used raw milk cheddar, because, as I mentioned, I'm trying to be all healthy!

Speaking of dinner. I bought ingredients to make a sausage -kale soup.  I thought it was from a recipe I pinned, but now I can't find it, so I'm thinking I must have read it on someone's blog. Was it yours?  If so, please help and send me the link!

My sweet grandpa is offering each of his great grandchildren $5 a report card for every average over 85. Since I know my mother probably saved every report card, I asked if he'd consider back pay. He hasn't answered me yet. *giggles*

I probably don't say it enough here, because I tend to rag on my mom for entertainment value, but I really love my family. If you keep up with my facebook page, you know I got thrown for a loop this week ~everything is okay for the time being. I did call and talk to my mom, in code, because the kids were there. After we hung up, she put in a call to my sister, Evie. Guess who showed up at school the next day with Baby B for a cheer up visit??? It made my day! That's the kind of family chain of command I can get behind!

That whole first paragraph sounds interesting : ) Do any of the parties involved read your blog?

Are you on Pinterest? If you go to Pinterest and google the soup I'm sure someone has it pinned somewhere. Pretty much everything tasty is pinned.

Enjoy your weekend!

Wow. Dinner including the ex-wife and her family? Whew! I bet that was interesting! (Also, I'm totally impressed because what a grown up thing to do!).

I have my fingers crossed that your grandpa decides on going with the back pay! :) --Lisa

Yikes to your dinner. You are a better person than I. Write about it - would love to hear the story.

Dinner with the ex-wife and family would definitely make for juice blog fodder... just sayin'. ;)

What a generous grandpa you have! Does he want to adopt another grandchild? ;)

Dinner with the ex and extended family? :o I'm going to be so disappointed if you don't do a post on this!

I started paying my boys for grades last year. Dracen always fairs better than Devin but there is a four year difference. Report cards come out here next week and I think Devin did better than normal this time so I'm going to have to fork over some dough!

Hey, back pay should be considered!!!

Not my soup, but it sounds great. Did you get the recipe up Monday that we talked about? I need to see.

That does sound like an interesting dinner...maybe...I think I would have felt very insecure in that setting. Truly I would have. I would love to hear about it ;-)

Wait? Dinner with the ex? Wow! That sounds like an entire new post in the waiting. ;-)
Talking in code works well, until the:y turn into teens. Then we have to figure out what their texting codes mean. lol

We've had some very interesting moments when we are together with my husband's ex, which fortunately isn't often! Whew!

Visiting from FF, gotta say, dinner with the ex? I commend you! Also, got a mom sister triad here too. My mom just hasn't figured out which sister she should try first!

The ex and families dinner - wow just throwing everyone together to see what happens? The only times those things happened for us was a special event like graduation or wedding.

You are totally brave for going to a dinner with your BF's family and his ex and her family. We aren't in touch, but there is no way I would visit my ex! lol

I totally bookmarked the baked spaghetti squash recipe because omg, it looks so good!!!

I love and love and LOVE spaghetti squash. Add cheese and I'm yours.

Dude. WHAT? That dinner? WHAT?

And the soup, I think I know what recipe you mean. Give me a moment and I'll go grab the link and email it to you.
