Friday Fragments: Spring is in the Air

I never got around to doing anything about the whole "no more Google Reader" thing and now I can't find it, which means I've lost have the blogs I follow.  Weird thing, though, I decided to check and see what would happen if I followed a new blog today and up popped google reader!  I still can't find it in my google account, though!

Suggestions on what to switch to?

My parents arrived this week and are staying until Tuesday.  I knew they were coming, but they are supposed to be staying with my sister, because my mom is going to help with child care for a little while when Evie goes back to work.  It occurred to them all yesterday that they won't fit at Evie's now that the baby is here, so they are staying with me until Daddy head's up north next week. Not a HUGE deal, but a little more notice would have been nice!

There are 40 more days left in the school year...not that I'm counting.  This final push to the end is like the school teacher's version of lent: preparing for the glory of summer break.

Being on Spring Break last week, I finally got a chance to hit The Body Shop and replace my perfume. It's not that it's hard to get there or far, it's just that the particular mall it's in is not on my way to anything and the traffic getting there is miserable, so I'm not particularly motivated.  LAWD! It's good to smell like myself again.

I know TBS isn't the eco-friendly company it used to be since it was sold here in the US, but I do love their Body Butter. I've tried all sorts of others and nothing compares. I picked up Sweet Lemon, which I've never used before and it's a really light spring/summer scent that doesn't class with said perfume! YAY!

I got a new batch of coffee this week and it is seriously the best batch I've had in awhile.  Not sure if it's because I ran out of my good stuff and had to use my Keurig the interim, but good gracious, few things are better than a cup of really good coffee.

I also got my first shipment from our local CSA.  I joined last fall after buying a box as a fundraiser. Pickins' are pretty slim this time of year, but I'm excited.

The pollen count is so crazy here in my neck of the south that they are actually talking about it on the news in other states. As I drove into work yesterday, there was an actual haze...actually clouds of pollen. This happens for a few days every spring. It's raining as I type this, so that should help.

Allergies here are horrible.. I switched to BlogLovin which grabbed all of my things from reader and moved them. I tried the other one that people suggested and it missed over half of the blogs I follow.

I switched to Bloglovin. It's simple and I was able to convert all the blogs I follow to it.

The pollen is horrific. Currently have a child home sick from her allergies! Am hoping the rain last night blew some of it away! Could not agree with you more about a good cup of coffee! :)-The Dose Girls

I never got into using Google Reader. I'm still old school and read them on blogger or simply from my blogroll. I hear a lot of people like Bloglovin though.

Dracen and me are popping ourClaritin and Zyrtec daily! We got a good rain last night and early this morning so hopefully, that will help.

Good luck with your house guests! ;)

I have been lazy about switching readers, too. However, if you do a google search for google reader, your reader is still there. It's just been removed from our header.

I like your analogy comparing the the countdown to the end of school to the days of lent. Very true. hang in there.

Bloglovin' is my choice for a replacement reader - it's super easy and I actually like it much better than Google Reader for some reason. :)

I'm with you - if my parents were going to stay with us, I'd prefer more notice than what you got. ;)

I'm counting down the days for when Princess Nagger's out for Summer Break, too - 7 weeks exactly! :)

I agree - few things are better than a cup of really good coffee. :)

surprise change in parents visit plans - I would not like that either. I just like to know in advance if a person is spending the night.
good morning coffee, good evening beer = perfect day.
Oh Lemons you smell good!

If you search "google reader" your reader will come up. Then you can bookmark it, at least until you get your blogs transferred. I'm using Bloglovin; so far so good.
Have a great weekend, I hope your parents' visit goes well. =)

Let's hear it for great coffee and favorite perfumes! The kind I have been wearing is hard to find and I have to mail order it - but I know what you are saying about smelling like you!

The pollen is awful. I use bloglovin. I like it.

I'm going to add BlogLovin, but I haven't done it yet. And I am addicted to the Lush Dream Cream! Nothing else works for me...I have such dry skin!

Another vote for Bloglovin'!
