Friday Fragments: Vacation Recap

We made it through vacation with barely a glance toward sleeping arrangements. In the end, the children took the bed and Lawn Boy and I stayed on the pull-out, since that allowed us to put the kids to bed and then stay up and chat with my parents for a little while.  Now we are home and he's back on the futon upstairs on the nights he stays over. Although The Girl did inquire as to why he was sleeping upstairs.

Turns out Lawn Boy is a great buffer. My mother and I had no issues, although he did get to see her in action when she was tired Easter Sunday and had a fit over a coverlet being on the floor and insisted on fixing it as I was putting my children into the same bed.

My inlaws did not make it down. While I'm disappointed that my children missed out on a rare opportunity to spend time with them, I'm a little relieved.  Them, my parents, and Lawn Boy was a little too much awkwardness for me!

I thought this was really neat.  In light of the fact that I just spent some time at the beach comparing myself to others, it caught my interest.

I have to say, I didn't so much mind the looks of the lady with my shape, height and measurements. Now if I could just see that girl when I look in the mirror! I found a mom on the beach that I thought was comparable to my size. Once again, LB admonished me because she was bigger than me.  I'm not off by a lot, but I definitely see myself as bigger than I am.

I've been busy since I got back.  I've organized my drawers and closet, gone to the container store and purchased some pretty boxes in which to hide the office supplies that go on the shelves in the Living Room, and recovered a cork board to hang up on the same shelves behind the computer.  If it has to be in the middle of the Living Room, at least I can make it look pretty!

Have I mentioned I don't want to go back to work on Monday?

I feel like a struck a good balance this break.  Being away for R&R in the beginning and then getting things done around the house the last few days.  I knew I enjoyed being at home, organizing and taking care of things, but I forgot just how much. Even Lawn Boy noticed the difference!

This has nothing to do with anything, but Holy Heck, it's funny!

Have a great weekend!

If LB is a good buffer, he's a keeper for sure! :)

Glad the vacation went well!

OMG...that video is the BEST. When the mom realizes what's happening and she loses it...that is just pure joy. I also love when the dad is all, "Dorothy, come on. Quit the crying."
Thanks for helping me get the weekend kicked off right!! --Lisa

that video - I feel sorry for the dog - new grandma scared the crap out it.
Glad you worked out sleeping arrangements. Traveling with parents can be tricky.

I m also guilty of thinking I'm a lot bigger than I actually am.

It took me a while to figure out WHY that woman on the video was suddenly SCREAMING like a banshee.

Goodness, having a first gran is wonderful, but I never screamed like THAT!
