Friday Fragments: Stressed

After whining on Wednesday, I'm picking myself up, dusting myself off and being positive. I don't have time for self pity right now. I'm too stressed, but in a good way!

*****

Lawn Boy has his children for the next few weeks and as he and he ex were ironing out details, I offered to be his childcare provider so he could have them longer in the summer.  That means during the day, I am now a "mom" of five!

*****

Not for long, though, because my children are heading to The Great White North next week for their annual trip with my parents.  They are flying for the first ~and probably only, Holy Unaccompanied Minor Fees!!!~ time by themselves. I still have to drive several hours to get them to an airport that would give us a direct flight, but its far less than the ten hour round trip to meet my parent halfway and means less time away from them.

*****

When they get back, we'll all head to the beach. I'm jones-ing for the beach. I haven't been yet this summer and I usually always plan a day trip or two.  We were at the beach during Spring Break, so in my mind I figured it wouldn't be so long, but I NEED my beach fix!

*****

Although nothing is near official yet, I've started discussing some of the upcoming changes in our lives with my children. I've given them a long-range plan letting them know we'd be looking for a bigger home in an area with better middle and high schools in the next few years. I *may* have mentioned wanting a pool in our backyard instead of just in the neighborhood. I caught The Girl Child googling mansions on her ipod the other day....

Mansions!!!

I guess I'll have to help her set more realistic goals for our new house! *grins!*

*****

In other news, I fessed up to LB about having a blog, so while he is the only person I'm telling, I'm not longer totally incognito IRL! No, I hadn't told him yet. It will, however, make it far less awkward if we do pull off meeting up with a certain blogging friend at the beach!

Oh yah - abd ALL my IRL peeps know about my blog and the sky hasn't fallen yet! Sometimes they even help me with photos and ideas.

Not yet. Our middle and high schools are not very strong. We need to move to a better part of the area in the next few years so my children can go to better schools!

Hey, can't blame a gal for dreaming. I would love a mansion too if it came with cleaning staff ;-)

Hahahaha, so now he knows there is a blog. We all need a creative outlet, hopefully he can see that yours is a very nice one.

We need to figure out how to get your comments threaded for your replies. I forget right now what the setting is, but you can do it on blogger...some help I am, huh?? ;-)

Good luck with 5. Sometimes, you just need to have them all find a chair with a book and set a timer. Also, a movie is not a cop out if you need the mental coffee break!

Having all the kids together for a few days will be interesting and good for you all.....

Telling the kids you are looking for a pool.....very smart mommy!! 😄

I know all about those flying costs...my grands have been flying here for years as unaccompanied minors,.,yikes!

Wow, you have a lot going on! I think of my boring, simple life and then go to blogs and read all the things going on in people's lives and I marvel at how they handle things! You rock!

My goodness, I want you to get a mansion with a pool house so I can come visit.

A pool.......wow!

I so want a pool! I think it's the best thing to buy a house that is new to everyone eventually. Find some common ground:) So great that your kids get to be with your parents. And hats off to you for running "summer camp" (I think 5 kids all day qualifies as that!!)

I have slowly 'came out' about my blog to people in recent months, both telling people about it IRL and telling blog friends my full name and "friending" them on FB. Hubby knew about the blog very early on. Anyway, with my new blog, I am going to be fully open about it with all IRL people. I'm ready for this change!
I'll pray for your patience with having all those kids for a little while! LOL You'll be fine, you're a teacher, you're tough!
I'm giggle about the mansions, how cute is that?!

We've been stressed around here too. It seems like you're making some moves towards peace, however. Good luck with all the changes and hopes for future moves (and mansions -- haha!)
Hope your Friday was great!

You have such incredibly exciting changes coming up in your life! That's awesome!!! And LOL @ the girl googling mansions. She's thinking big and clearly just as hyped about all of these changes :)

And YAY for a beach day. I went down to Asbury last weekend, but the weather was damp and rainy. Ugh. It's been such a crappy summer! Either 100+ or rainy-can't win!
