Never a Dull Moment

Moving in together....

It's something I always swore would not happen before marriage, but circumstances ~that are a 'hole nother blog post~ make it impractical to wait, so we've begun the transition of moving Lawn Boy into my house.

It has not been without issue.

For starters, for several years, I've only had broadcast cable. That's below basic, folks and basically gets you network channels if you don't have a new TV that picks up things on it's own ~ I didn't.~  Lawn Boy has satellite TV with the NFL package. I knew when he scheduled the transfer that he was ready to come. Blessedly, since he knew this was his deal, he did it on a Saturday morning.  They came by 9. They left at 2.  Yes, 2 PM... it took five hours and a supervisor to get it all set up!

I went shopping with my mother.  Y'all know how I am about my mother. You can imagine that if I chose a shopping excursion with my mother and The Girl over remaining in my house, that I was feeling a little...tense...

Also on the agenda that day was moving LB's bed, which is a king, into my
source
bedroom. We needed to do it while my parents were here because my dad has a full-size truck.  Off LB and Daddy went and 'round about 3 hours later, my mom looked at me and said, "I thought they'd be back by now..." I sent a text and sure enough, into the driveway the men pulled. They got the bed unloaded and then fessed up:

They dropped a king-size mattress in the middle of the Interstate Highway you need to take to get from LB's house to mine!!!!  There was backing up down the highway involved!

Fortunately, both men, other drivers, AND the mattress were unscathed.

But... HOLY COW!

Never a dull moment!

Oh my gosh! I'm glad nobody was hurt, but yeah, that definitely is a "remember that time" moment that they will have for future years. Lol.

Thank God no one was hurt by the mattress! And the TV thing? Same here. We have bare bones basic. I will have to keep the cable thing in mind should I decide to date one day! Haha!

You sound like us with the cable. I never had it for years and years; hubby will not live without it! And I must admit I do enjoy the extra channels now.
What a crazy fiasco with the mattress! So glad it ended well.

Talking about moving in together and actually doing it are two very different beasts. lol Reading this has me a little stressed out for my future. hahahaha As for the mattress, that must've been quite the site to see, and I'm glad everyone was safe in the whole situation!
